well friday was aight. mostly chilled on my own. saturday sle traveled with a posse of friends to charlottesville to play tokyo rose w/ this painted red, broadmoore, and others. there was a shitload of kids there and they went nuts for us.. no exaggeration there.. they really seemed to enjoy it and were super nice to us. i hope to go back down there somepoint soon to rock out again.

sunday got a bit of rest, and now its monday all over again

so brooks and i went to a show in indian head md last night. we got there right as it was starting come to find out its a theatre with seats. so we sat. 2 bands played, that werent very memorable. then amity came on.. i had been waiting 3 years to see them again, and i stood up to go watch them, and this douche of a sound guy told us we werent allowed to stand and watch and make us sit down.. GAY! amity tore shit up like always, and then the drugstore cowboys were next. these guys are pretty awesome, and very creative. impressive set as always. then came downtown singapore, who were dead on last night.. as always. awesome new cd they just put out a month or two ago.. they sound exactly like the cd live, which is awesome. we bought some merch and peaced out, followed by some nice singalongs to taking back sunday's "tell all your friends". we ended the night at silver diner with nick. the waitress made wait like 20 mins for a fuckin refill, so fuck that bitch she got no tip! thats it.

well here it is, the 30th of december and music has been on fire this year. certainly wasnt a flat year by any means. im sure we all remember the beginning of the year when bands like armor for sleep and anberlin ushered us in with a bang. who could forget over it's knockout "silverstrand" right around spring (although some of us were rocking out to it before 2004 was over.. lol) we still didn't get that new brand new record, or the new saves the day but we know they are on the way. this year also saw some bands deliver full length debuts that floored us all.. these bands include but aren't limited to: acceptance, gatsby's american dream, the spill canvas, cartel, the recieving end of sirens, panic! at the disco. we also found some new surprises by way of the higher, my american heart, june, and between home and serenity. then their was a few dissapointments from such bands as: the juliana theory, and everytime i die. with all this being said, i give you my personal top 10 of this year!

i would say the worst band of the year goes to: aiden

what to look for in 2006.

look for a monumental return from saves the day. working with steve evetts again was a good thing.

for all of you hawthorne heights kids.. expect nothing new. the new cd coming out in jan sounds exactly like the old cd, only difference is new lyrics.. but same shitty sounding scream is ever so present, and the songs sound practically the same. so if your happy with mediocre screamo be sure to pick up this one.

i cannot say enough good things about immortal technique this guy is truly talented, and he speaks the truth. any man who shits on a major label contract to stay underground is cool with me. immortal technique makes rap sound good! save your money and stay the fuck away from shit like 50 cent. his highly anticipated 3rd full length is due out sometime in the new year.. oh and if you arent familiar with his work, go to your nearest store and pick up revolutionary vol. 2 its a masterpiece!

judging by the new thursday demos i recieved, it appears as if they are back to take over, with a bang no doubt. keep your ears open for this one.

look out for the class of 98, they've got a pretty impressive release on the way in the new year.

it is to my understanding that shall be having a new release sometime this year from killswitch engage. no matter what style of heavy music your into.. scene or not scene or whatever.. these guys deliver a heavy punch and it was so evident on their most recent full length the end of heartache. there next release shall either be equal or out do their last record..

either way you look at it, should be a good year.. did i leave anything out? whats your views on this year and next.. post your own reviews or opinions..

so for the past 2 days, i spent sometime working on a project for crisis point that became more serious that i could ever imagine. the song touched on a time in my life that was both beautiful and extremely painful. im not out to throw out names, or expose personal stories.. but i encourage everyone to check out our new acoustic song "forever means nothing" once we start playing gigs/and or when the vocals are added to the track. i busted my ass on it, and went through some mental pain in the process so everyone should listen as i paint a beautiful story that started great and went terribly wrong some 2 years ago.

i thank god i have music in my life, to let out emotions and get over things cuz if i didnt id be one of those loser suicidal types.. lol

that is all..

oh wait!!! that isnt all.. you all should pick up cartel's new cd on tuesday, just a fun pop-punk record! we should all thank a band like them for keeping that genre alive.. alot of bands these days just do it horribly.. i listen to the new cartel and it reminds me of the first time i heard "through being cool" by saves the day back in 2000. for those who know saves the day when they were tight back then, you all will know what im talkin about when you hear this cd so give it a listen! you can stream it here(http://www.absolutepunk.net/theleak)

little bumps in life can be obnoxious, but road blocks in ur life are much worse. really wish i could get this one particular road block out of the way, so i can continue on normally. although, seems as if this one will be a bit more difficult than before, as the main problem isnt even my fault (for once) but i realize that shit gets out of control at times.

for those who dont know what im talking about, probably better that you keep it that way to avoid formulating a bullshit opinion that means nothing and only serves its purpose by giving you a little wet stain in ur pants cuz you believe for one second that you actually know me and think you know whats right for me. lately i have really given most people who dont agree with my actions the cold shoulder, and for good reason. for those out there who have problems with how i conduct my life, actions, and decisions, first off you need to get your nose the fuck out of my business.

most people whom i've already shoved to the side in the past actually took the fucking clue, that i do what i want, when i want, and how i want and they left me alone. nothing anyone says or attempts to do, stops me in my quest of doing what i want.
